Elevation, exposure and soil characteristics of vineyard:
Elevation is from 375-575, Steep south exposure, soil is peavine, composed of siltstone and sandstone.
Wine flavor profile:
Lenné is a warm, steep, well drained site producing wines with deep, textured mid-palates and a long finish. The wines are
redolent of black cherry, bing cherry with an underlying mocha component.
Viticultural philosophies and practices:
We use predominately organic sprays on the vineyard, intense canopy management and do very little soil augmentation with the exception of cover crops. We also dry farm our steep, dry site, stressing the vine and producing small clusters and berries. Our soil is among the worst in Yamhill county and our philosophy is to utilize this poor soil to control the vines vigor so we don’t add any nutrients to the soil or compost.
Vineyards we purchase fruit from:
Entirely estate fruit
