Saffron Fields Vineyard is about a half mile from Hwy 240 on NE Laughlin Rd. When viewed from Laughin Rd, the property consists of a saddle at the top of the hill and a hillside sloping down to Laughlin Rd. Previously, the land has been used for dairy and farming purposes. The current owners purchased the land in 2003 with plans to develop a 35 to 40 acre vineyard. The majority of the acreage will be planted with pinot noir clones with the balance in sauvignon blanc and pinot gris. The first 10 acres (Pommard) were planted in 2007. We plan to plant an additional 12 acres (777, 115, and Wädenswil) in 2009.
